Bidets may also be used to clean any other part of the body, such as feet. Despite appearing similar to a toilet, it would be more accurate to compare it to the washbasin or bathtub. Bidets once served as a practical way for couples to prepare themselves before sex, as well as to rinse themselves afterward.
French furniture makers apparently invented the bidet in the late 17th century. The earliest written reference to the bidet is in 1710, in Italy. By 1900, due to plumbing improvements, the bidet (and chamber pot) moved from the bedroom to the bathroom. This was common in French palaces.
The early 1980s saw the introduction of the electronic bidet from Japan, and in 1928, John Harvey Kellogg applied for a patent on an “anal douche”.
Toilet paper can be harmful to the sensitive skin in the perineal area, whereas the water of a bidet offers relief while cleaning the area more effectively. From an environmental standpoint, bidets reduce the need for toilet paper, saving households money on paper products while reducing their carbon footprint.

This bidet is a superlative product. Easy to install, easy to use & it’s effective. I purchased one when they first came out a few years ago. It was inexpensive enough try & if it wasn’t good, I wasn’t going to be out much money. But it exceeded my expectations. It just recently began to occasionally drip water from the hole in the bottom… just a little bit. So I’m replacing it with a new one. I think, even if I had to replace it every 4 years, several of these at the price would out compete the $200 plus bidets. I would be interested in any information about new products from this company.

I finally added Refresh it to my home and now have my very own makeshift bidet. It was rather easy to install. Anal hygiene is important to me. Maybe it’s the Virgo Rising in me.

On my first visit to Japan, my first point of interest was the toilet, haha! I know it’s a little strange to say that, but I’ve heard of their high tech toilets, and after coming back I wanted to find something similar. This bidet has been the perfect fit for my toilet and for my overall, or rather, underall cleanliness. Very satisfied : )
